What you truly mean to me!!

If I could take a minute
To help you understand
I am a better person
Because you are my friend.
And it really doesn't matter
If we're together or apart
For I swept you up into my hands
And placed you in my heart.
And if at any moment
You ever start to doubt
There's a special bond between us
That I can't live without.
You truely are the answers
To many of my prayers
When I told God I needed
Someone who really cares.
Someone to stand beside me
To help comfort and to cope
To remind me that there's always
Some room for one to hope.
You've helped me through some things
That no one could help me through
I never knew what friendship was
Until I first met you.
And if I had one simple wish
It would surely be
That God would keep you in my life
Throughout all eternity.
And now I hope you realize
Just how much you mean to me
You are the definition
Of what a real, special person you should be

S M I L E

She smiled at a sorrowful stranger.
The smile seemed to make him feel better.

He remembered past kindness of a friend
And wrote him a thank you letter.
The friend was so pleased with the thank you
That he left a large tip after lunch.

The waitress, surprised by the size of the tip,
Gave part to a man on the street.
The man on the street was grateful;
For two days he'd had nothing to eat.

After he finished his dinner,He left for his small dingy room.
He didn't know at that moment that he might be facing his doom.
On the way he picked up a shivering puppy And took him home to get warm.
The puppy was very grateful To be in out of the storm.

That night the house caught on fire.
The puppy barked the alarm.
He barked till he woke the whole household
And saved everybody from harm.

One of the boys that he rescued
Grew up to be a President.
All this because of a simple smile
That hadn't cost a cent....and THAT is the power of a smile!

So smile away as The Messenger of Allah, upon whom be peace, said: "Every good deed is sadaqah (charity). To meet your brother with a smiling face and to pour out from your bucket into his container are sadaqah."

Have Courage

When things go wrong as they sometimes will
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill

When the funds are low, and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but have to sigh

When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but do not quit.

Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt

And you can never tell how close you are
It may be near when it seems so far

So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things go wrong that you must not quit.

Another Chance

How often we wish for another chance
To make a fresh beginning
A chance to blot out our mistakes,
And change failure into winning
It does not take a new day
To make a brand new start
It only takes a deep desire
To try with all our heart,
To live a little better
And to be always forgiving
And to add a little sunshine
To the world in which we' re living

So never give up in despair
And think that you are through
For there's always a tomorrow
For the hope of starting new.

Ladies First

Ladies First

It's easy to get swept into this society's norms
In a World of "After you" and "Ladies first"
All wrongs seem to come at you in the right forms.
In a World of "After you" and "Ladies first"

In a world where girls and guys can intermingle
In a world where it's a virtue to stay single
Where the only guideline is in each persons ability
Where everyone has stripped themselves of liability

We tend to forget the people of our history
making the achievement of good deeds a mystery

such as the story of a man in madyan
who helped some women get water from a well

such as the story of a man in madyan
who into his desires, he did not sell

"come with me" the girl said
and to her father, he was led
the father was impressed with his manly nature
He wanted to see this man of great stature

on the way he did not twidle
making sure there was no chance for shaytan to fiddle
Ahead of the girl he chose to walk
and if he were to walk too far, he bid her to throw rocks

he dared not walk behind her
not because of arrogance or pride
he dared not walk behind her
for fear he would take joy in their stride

a man of great stature indeed
a man who truly did succeed

A different story, today's society does tell
A different story, into which many of us fell
a story of "After you" and "Ladies first"

Women In Islam

WOMEN IN ISLAM

How do women fit into islam? What is their fate?
This has been the subject of many a debate
for the believing men and women, is a great reward'
this is from surah al ahzaab, the words of our Lord
it can be seen from reading the holy Quran
that a woman has some privilege over a man

Praying is exempted during menstruation
here islam gives women consideration
a woman after marriage becomes a wife
for nine long months she carries new life
during childbirth she is exempted to fast
islam is against the burying of girls in the past

They can pray at the mosque or even at home
they may marry or divorce , its their choice, their own
after marriage she can retain her old maiden name
and is rewarded for treating all her offspring the same
once they are married they should live pious lives
and the best men are those who are best to their wives

Islam shows equality my sisters and brothers
don't forget paradise lies at the feet of your mothers
women in the UK had property rights from 1938
this right was given by islam, 14 centuries to date
in the UK, women could vote from 1918
this was stated 1400 years ago in islam our deen

Women can work and lead a happily married life
but shouldn't neglect her role as mother and wife
a woman for her child's upbringing, deserves her credit
islam also gives a woman the right to inherit
a woman's status in islam, we should never neglect
in islam they are favoured and deserve their respect.

Actions speak louder than words!!

Once I was walking down the road
On a dark and foggy night
When there was hardly any light

I called out “Hey, mister, What’s your name?”
At first there was no reply
Perhaps he was a little shy

I called out yet again
But it was all in vain
I was about to give up when it suddenly began to rain
And as we ran helter, skelter
To find ourselves shelter
He opened his umbrellaWilling to share
And then I realized that my friend of few words
Really did care

And as we huddle together, cold and numb
I realized that my friend couldn’t speak
Because he was deaf and dumb

And then a sudden thought flashed through my mind
Do we really need words to be kind?
What words couldn’t do, his actions had done
For life long in me
A friend he had won!
