Intentions

A close look on the importance of intentions in gaining thawab and ajr and getting closer to our Lord..

Waking up in the morning, gotta make my prayer
Am I really gonna' make it, when there is no one there?
Taking trips to the masjid (mosque), even when it's tough
Am I going for the sake of Allah? Am I showing off?
Gonna' get me the knowledge, gonna study Islam
Am I going just to build my ego? so they call me “the Man”?
Does it matter if the people respect me, when its not for Allah?
When I know anytime He can take me, without one real du'a (prayer)
Does it matter if they say I'm a big shot?
when I get no reward for my deeds
And I'm dragged on the Day of Resurrection
Cause of the folks that I wanted to please
Plus I know that Allah has the power
To raise me up in their eyes if it need be
I should always make my intentions, for my Lord, Allah completely

Are my Intentions alright? am I doing it for Allah?
When I'm looking deep, deep down inside, do I have the right niyyah?

Wearing thoubs with a kufi, kufi
Miswaks leather socks like the old days
Am I trying to follow the Prophet? or am I seeking praise?
Giving talks on Islam to people
I'd be quoting Hadith and Qur'an
Am I speaking so they like how I'm speaking? and they say I'm “the Bomb”
Donating to Islamic centers, giving money so the Deen can grow
Am I giving for the sake of Allah? or is it for show?
Many times I have found my intentions
Are not what I want them to be
I know I start on the right direction
But Shaitan starts talking to me
And I forget that without my niyyah, I'm just wasting my time
My intentions cannot bring the reward, when they're out of line
So I pray to Allah to help me, to do everything for Him only
Doesn't matter if the people despise me
Cause with Allah I can never be lonely

Yah Allah, accept this niyyah
Coming from young Muslims striving to be believers
So on the day, our deeds You'll measure.
Know we only did this strictly for Your pleasure, Your pleasure
Your mercy, Your ajur (reward), Your Jannah (heaven), forever and ever and ever
And reward us for those who listen
Heeded to the message, changing their condition
And know that everything up until this point I've ever written
I submit as my repentance
And if its blessings You're sending my way
I beg You hold them to the judgement day
so maybe in Jannah I can look back and say...it was a lovely day, a lovely, a lovely day, yes a lovely day

I asked....

This is smthn i ran into while i was searchin for some stuff online,it really touched me personally as it reminded me that Allah always answers our prayers but not necessarily in the way we want or the way we expected... im sure it'll touch u too
Enjoy...:)

I asked for strength…
And God gave me difficulties to make me strong
I asked for wisdom…
And God gave me problems to solve
I asked for prosperity…
And God gave me brain and brawn to work
I asked for courage…
And God gave me danger to overcome
I asked for love…
And God gave me troubled people to help
I asked for favours…
And God gave me opportunities
I received nothing I wanted
I received everything I needed
My prayer has been answered...;)

IF (By KiPpling)

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,

If you can wait and not be tired of waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;

If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;

If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men can count on you, but none too much,

If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

What you truly mean to me!!

If I could take a minute
To help you understand
I am a better person
Because you are my friend.
And it really doesn't matter
If we're together or apart
For I swept you up into my hands
And placed you in my heart.
And if at any moment
You ever start to doubt
There's a special bond between us
That I can't live without.
You truely are the answers
To many of my prayers
When I told God I needed
Someone who really cares.
Someone to stand beside me
To help comfort and to cope
To remind me that there's always
Some room for one to hope.
You've helped me through some things
That no one could help me through
I never knew what friendship was
Until I first met you.
And if I had one simple wish
It would surely be
That God would keep you in my life
Throughout all eternity.
And now I hope you realize
Just how much you mean to me
You are the definition
Of what a real, special person you should be

S M I L E

She smiled at a sorrowful stranger.
The smile seemed to make him feel better.

He remembered past kindness of a friend
And wrote him a thank you letter.
The friend was so pleased with the thank you
That he left a large tip after lunch.

The waitress, surprised by the size of the tip,
Gave part to a man on the street.
The man on the street was grateful;
For two days he'd had nothing to eat.

After he finished his dinner,He left for his small dingy room.
He didn't know at that moment that he might be facing his doom.
On the way he picked up a shivering puppy And took him home to get warm.
The puppy was very grateful To be in out of the storm.

That night the house caught on fire.
The puppy barked the alarm.
He barked till he woke the whole household
And saved everybody from harm.

One of the boys that he rescued
Grew up to be a President.
All this because of a simple smile
That hadn't cost a cent....and THAT is the power of a smile!

So smile away as The Messenger of Allah, upon whom be peace, said: "Every good deed is sadaqah (charity). To meet your brother with a smiling face and to pour out from your bucket into his container are sadaqah."

Have Courage

When things go wrong as they sometimes will
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill

When the funds are low, and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but have to sigh

When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but do not quit.

Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt

And you can never tell how close you are
It may be near when it seems so far

So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things go wrong that you must not quit.

Another Chance

How often we wish for another chance
To make a fresh beginning
A chance to blot out our mistakes,
And change failure into winning
It does not take a new day
To make a brand new start
It only takes a deep desire
To try with all our heart,
To live a little better
And to be always forgiving
And to add a little sunshine
To the world in which we' re living

So never give up in despair
And think that you are through
For there's always a tomorrow
For the hope of starting new.

Ladies First

Ladies First

It's easy to get swept into this society's norms
In a World of "After you" and "Ladies first"
All wrongs seem to come at you in the right forms.
In a World of "After you" and "Ladies first"

In a world where girls and guys can intermingle
In a world where it's a virtue to stay single
Where the only guideline is in each persons ability
Where everyone has stripped themselves of liability

We tend to forget the people of our history
making the achievement of good deeds a mystery

such as the story of a man in madyan
who helped some women get water from a well

such as the story of a man in madyan
who into his desires, he did not sell

"come with me" the girl said
and to her father, he was led
the father was impressed with his manly nature
He wanted to see this man of great stature

on the way he did not twidle
making sure there was no chance for shaytan to fiddle
Ahead of the girl he chose to walk
and if he were to walk too far, he bid her to throw rocks

he dared not walk behind her
not because of arrogance or pride
he dared not walk behind her
for fear he would take joy in their stride

a man of great stature indeed
a man who truly did succeed

A different story, today's society does tell
A different story, into which many of us fell
a story of "After you" and "Ladies first"

Women In Islam

WOMEN IN ISLAM

How do women fit into islam? What is their fate?
This has been the subject of many a debate
for the believing men and women, is a great reward'
this is from surah al ahzaab, the words of our Lord
it can be seen from reading the holy Quran
that a woman has some privilege over a man

Praying is exempted during menstruation
here islam gives women consideration
a woman after marriage becomes a wife
for nine long months she carries new life
during childbirth she is exempted to fast
islam is against the burying of girls in the past

They can pray at the mosque or even at home
they may marry or divorce , its their choice, their own
after marriage she can retain her old maiden name
and is rewarded for treating all her offspring the same
once they are married they should live pious lives
and the best men are those who are best to their wives

Islam shows equality my sisters and brothers
don't forget paradise lies at the feet of your mothers
women in the UK had property rights from 1938
this right was given by islam, 14 centuries to date
in the UK, women could vote from 1918
this was stated 1400 years ago in islam our deen

Women can work and lead a happily married life
but shouldn't neglect her role as mother and wife
a woman for her child's upbringing, deserves her credit
islam also gives a woman the right to inherit
a woman's status in islam, we should never neglect
in islam they are favoured and deserve their respect.

Actions speak louder than words!!

Once I was walking down the road
On a dark and foggy night
When there was hardly any light

I called out “Hey, mister, What’s your name?”
At first there was no reply
Perhaps he was a little shy

I called out yet again
But it was all in vain
I was about to give up when it suddenly began to rain
And as we ran helter, skelter
To find ourselves shelter
He opened his umbrellaWilling to share
And then I realized that my friend of few words
Really did care

And as we huddle together, cold and numb
I realized that my friend couldn’t speak
Because he was deaf and dumb

And then a sudden thought flashed through my mind
Do we really need words to be kind?
What words couldn’t do, his actions had done
For life long in me
A friend he had won!

Allah knows best

Assalamu alaikum,

I was once searchin for some stuff online and i ran into this amazing poem which really touched me personally as it reminded me of things that i unconsciously forget ..i hope u enjoy it

Allah Knows Best

Allah knows what's best for us
So why should we complain
We always want the sunshine
But He knows there must be rain

We always want the laughter
And the merriment of cheer
But our hearts will lose their tenderness
If we never shed a tear.

Allah tests us often
With suffering and with sorrow
He tests us not to punish us
But to help us meet tomorrow

For growing trees are strengthened
If they withstand the storm
And the sharp cut of the chisel
Gave the marble grace and form

Allah tests us often
And for every pain He gives to us
Provided we're patient
Is followed by rich again

So whenever we feel that everything is going wrong
It is just Allah's way
To make our spirits strong.

Assalamu alaikum

Baby it's all good!!

Assalamu 3alaikum wara7mato Allah wabarakatuh,

For all our sisters who keep strong infront of all the difficulties we face ..for all those who are proud of wearing the hijab
and simply believing in the power of their minds not their bodies!! I dedicate this poem to u..enjoy!!

Baby, it's all good! - A modern hijab (headscarf) poem

What do you see when you look at me
Do you see someone limited, or someone free
All some people can do is just look and stare
Simply because they can't see my hair
Others think I am controlled and uneducated
They think that I am limited and un-liberated
They are so thankful that they are not me
Because they would like to remain 'free'

Well free isn't exactly the word I would've used
Describing women who are cheated on and abused
They think that I do not have opinions or voice
They think that being hooded isn't my choice
They think that the hood makes me look caged
That my husband or dad are totally outraged
All they can do is look at me in fear
And in my eye there is a tear

Not because I have been stared at or made fun of
But because people are ignoring the One up above
On the day of judgment they will be the fools
Because they were too ashamed to play by their own rules
Maybe the guys won't think I am a cutie
But at least I am filled with more inner beauty
See I have declined from being a guy's toy
Because I won't let myself be controlled by a boy

Real men are able to appreciate my mind
And aren't busy looking at my behind
Hooded girls are the ones really helping the Muslim cause
The role that we play definitely deserves applause
I will be recognized because I am smart and bright
And because some people are inspired by my sight
The smart ones are attracted by my tranquility
In the back of their mind they wish they were me

We have the strength to do what we think is right
Even if it means putting up a life long fight
You see we are not controlled by a mini skirt and tight shirt
We are given only respect, and never treated like dirt
So you see, we are the ones that are free and liberated
We are not the ones that are sexually terrorized and violated
We are the ones that are free and pure
We're free of STD's that have no cure

So when people ask you how you feel about the hood
Just sum it up by saying, 'Baby its all good'..;)

Assalamu 3alaikum wara7mato Allah wabarakatuh

Doubts, doubts and doubts!!

Assalamu alaikum warahmato Allah wabarakatuh,

Doubts..i'm sure it sounds like a weird topic but its really an important one.. i'll tell u why in a sec

i just need u to answer my question first..don't forget to think well be4 answering..and oh yeah i dont need to remind u of being honest with urself :)
There u go:

Haven't u ever had any disturbing doubts regarding everything in life??
who u are...why u r here...ur religion...ur identity.. everything

well if u didnt have any doubts then u r sure a unique person..:)
but if u r like most people and had those kinds of doubts then u sure gonna understand what im gonna say

From my personal experience when u get to this dark phase in ur life (the doubts phase) things get worse and worse everyday u cud hardly even sleep!!

and unfortunately our eastern societies aren't accustomed to accept or even try to answer any kinds of questioning regarding religious basics or even cultural basics without giving harsh judgements on u which gets things even more worse!

so whats the solution to this problem..that i rather call a disease??
the only effective cure to this problem in my opinion is to start ur own search , keep ur mind opened and always use it in a logical way , dont u ever follow those words of some ppl that say"first believe then question" cuz those words are made by people and are against the core of all creeds and religions that advise people to observe , ask , and question to reach the truth

Always seek the truth, by ur mind, ur body , ur soul
have really good intentions and a strong will to reach it and don't forget to search in reliable and authentic sources

and i'm sure u'll reach the same truth that i have reached very soon that u cud've never imagined it!!

good luck in ur search..all the best ..and may God guide u to his true path..amen

Assalamu alaikum warahmato Allah wabarakatuh
